A Word About Thrid Parties Supporters

The issue of Third Parties is again in the news with the endorsement of Constitutional Party presidential nominee, Chuck Bladwin, by Ron Paul. There are a lot of misconceptions and diminishing of Third Party supporters floating around. The idea that they’re all “loonies” is false. Every party has its extremes, and unfortunately those with the most radical rhetoric get air time because they’re more “interesting”. Plus we live in a society notorious for perpetuating stereotypes when they prove useful to those in power.

I have been both a Democrat and Republican at various times and currently feel that neither offer real solutions. I am well read in Economics and have been a student of both the Constitution and Foreign Policy issues. I assure you I am no radical and have a more than adequate IQ. I take the time to research the issues, as is the responsibility of all citizens in a free society.

I believe freedom of choice is what makes the USA great! The notion that voting for a Third Party candidate is a "waste of your vote" doesn't really fly with me. I believe voting with a mob mentality or choosing the lesser of two evils is a far bigger waste. I also believe that people like to back a "winner", so they feel compelled to chose a candidate from one of the major parties.

I researched ALL the candidates and compare their policies with my beliefs and vote for the candidate that most closely matches my criteria. I don't worry about the letter after their name, but rather their record. To me this process is far from a waste. I implore voters to do their own research and start this process by searching their own beliefs to discover where they TRULY lie in the political spectrum. You may be surprised with what you discover!
